Tuesday, August 2nd -- Gable and Rafters

A big truck came early in the AM from National Lumber to drop off a huge supply of wood for the house, and the guys started on the 2nd floor and the roof/rafters.  Here are the pics updating their progress.

Here is a pic from the "new hall" floor into the future master bedroom.  One person asked me if this was 2x6 construction.  It is.  As you can see, the guys prepared and cut the wood beams to put the rafters tomorrow as its laying on the master bedroom floor.  Hopefully the weather cooperates!

A view of the beam crossing into the family room to the gable.  That must have been fun putting it up there!

A view from the front walk -- the rafters are really giving us an idea of how the addition is going to look at the end.

Another view.

We had the visit from the site inspector from Dedham Bank today.  Eric says he's a nice guy.  I'll update you on how it goes.

So Eric (not Busa) says that I should go with Lowes.  If the cabinet's the same, why pay more?!  Good point.
