Here are some pics. The guys really pushed the project again today.
Eric finally put up his sign! I think the sign has gotten as many compliments as the building itself! He even put my blog on there. Thanks Eric!
Here is Derek trying to get in the picture... Is he filing his nails?
Interior view: The guys put up the front/garage gable and the two dormers for the master bedroom.
A nice view towards the side/back yard. Nice mature views from the master!
A view from the current front walk. I think it's a good balance. I'm optimistic that when the addition is done, it will look like its been there for a long time!
A view from the street. Again, well balanced. I like it!
A view from the street showing the new work done today. It was a hot and muggy day, but they accomplished alot.
In addition to the framing, we had another visit from a cabinet person. I have to admit that his professionalism and dedication is top notch. We have a dilemma. He is not the cheapest guy. In fact, he is the most expensive. If price was not a question, my wife and I would have no hesitation to go with him. I hope it works out, but we're honestly not sure if its going to work out. We have a couple of other leads, but we are starting to like what we picked out.
We've been going back and forth on what shade of white to have our kitchen cabinets. We were looking at some "antiquey" look glazed white finishes, however we are likely going to an off-white color without the glaze. The color is Divinity from Medallion/Schuler (Elkay company.) For the island, we are going with a darker wood cherry -- probably Brandywine from the same maker. We just have to come to a decision on price. Do we go with a big box company (Lowes) for a cheaper price --- same cabinets.. or the more expensive? I hope we are not forced to make that choice!!
