I have to say that today is a perfect example of how valuable it is to have a good contractor who really cares about his craft. Our architect drew plans for a shed roof to house the area for the gas fireplace in the family room. However, Eric -- while actually doing it -- thought that a gable roof was a much better design feature. He called me at work and explained (and nicely nudged) his recommendation in favor of the gable roof. He thought it would look tons better that what the architect drew up.
Well, I got home after work, and saw it.. and yes, I have to admit that its much better!
